i have XP Media Center Edition 2005
what, if any, services does wmplayer 11 add ? since i've installed it
on my machine, windows has been sluggish (i even went into WMP 11 and
disabled anything that was networked based); I just bought this
machine, its an HP dual core with 2G ram 300G hd so it shouldn't be
sluggish like this.

It shouldn't be causing a problem like that. I've had V/11 for a long time
and it hasn't caused any problems. First I would do is uninstall, see if the
computer is then running ok, and then install again.

I don't use WMP enough to remember what the change are between versions.
