I just upgraded to windows vista ultimate final. I'm using a freecom dvb-t
usb stick and the drivers installed fine. When scanning for TV channels,
media center finds all the channels. However, when I go into live tv, I can
only watch 1 channel, the others show "no signal".
I have tested Cyberlink Powercinema 5, and Arcsoft Totalmedia 3, both finds
all the channels and can play all of them. I have maximum signal strength
according to Totalmedia.
I've come to the conclusion that the frequencies media center finds, are
slightly different to the ones that were stored. I kinda saw this happen. I
scheduled a recording by accident, and I got an alert saying there was no
signal. At the same time, I started scanning for channels again, and media
center started to record. It must of found the channel when I was scanning.
Sure enough, when I checked, media center had managed to record some tv,
before I stopped it.
Does anyone have any ideas on how to solve my problem? As far as I know, it
is not possible to fine tune frequencies in media center. any help would be
much appreciated. I have limited trials of totalmedia and powercinema, and I
dont want to buy them. Theres really no point to me having vista ultimate if
i cant get media center to work. Before upgrading, I used XP MCE, and that
had no problems whatsoever.
Thanks

okay, think ive definately found the cause of the problem. i checked the
frequencies that media center has stored, and that actual transmission
frequencies. out of 71 channels, only 4 have the same frequency as the listed
ones, and those are the only 4 that work. every other channel media center
has stored is off by 1mhz, which is why its saying no signal when trying to
watch it. how do you solve this though?
