I just upgraded my video card from a Nvidia 7500 LE to a 8400 GS. I'm not
sure if this is the cause of the problem, but I now get the error "Your video
card or drivers are not compatible with Media Center." I have the most
recent drivers for the video card as well the video capture card. Nvidia has
not been able to find anything wrong. The tuner's software plays video fine.
I contacted HP and they told me to revert to the originally installed
version of the video card; this seems like a non-solution to me.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

The message you are getting normally refers to you TV tuner/video capture
card or possibly your decoder software ant not to your graphics/video output
card.
Can you play a DVD in Media Center? If yes there is nothing wrong with your
new graphics card or its drivers.
Can you play a DVD in Media Center?
Since you can use the tuner's software without problem the tuner card and
its driver do not appear to be a problem?
Is there any possibility that you have changed the primary decoder for use
by Media Center?
What release of what OS and Media Center are you running? Did you recently
change Operating Systems?
Have you recently installed any other DVD creation or playing software?

Hi Curious,
MC will not play DVDs; either will Media Player or RealPlayer, but HP DVD
player does. How can I tell if the decoder has changed?
The tuner doesn't have a problem with the manufacturer's app, that's true.
The OS is XP SP3, MC is 2005, update rollup 3, Oct 2006 refresh.
I am using 1Click DVD Copy Pro, but I think I was doing that before the
problem started.

Thanks for the link. the app showed CyberLink Video/SP Decoder as the
preferred decoder and as compatible. It also showed 3 non-compatible
decoders: ArcSoft MPEC Video Decoder, MainConcept (Muvee) MPEG Video Decoder,
and Intervideo NonCSS Video Decoder for Hauppauge.
I should note that Media Player plays the audio but not the video of DVDs.
