A friend bought a new HP PC with all the bell and whistles minus a TV
tuner card. I installed a Haupauge 150 TV card. I hooked the PC up to
my internet connection and Direct TV STB, everything worked great
beautiful picture and fast internet at the same time. once installed at
their home with adelphia digital cable could not recieve both cable and
internet at the same time. Cable company came out and did something at
the curb side cable box, now able to recieve both thru a 2ghz splitter
but the tv picture is very bad cable company says something wrong with
PC took back to my house, beaautiful picture, back to their house bad
picture. any ideas on why?
thanks

It could be the splitter that was installed, with a marginal signal =
level.

It would have to be with the splitter or the cable from it to the PC, =
would be my guess, if it the PC works elsewhere. It could also be =
marginal signal level from the cable company.

When at the friends house make sure you are watching a digital channel on
his cable system and not an analog channel (Channels 2-99) since all of your
DirecTV channels are digital I would expect you to get a better picture on
the low numbered analog channels.. Also are you both using S-Video from
your STBs to the tuner card since S-video provides a much better image than
RF from an STB.
