I've just started experimenting with Media Center 2005 and I've been
having some success. I've been able to get my Xbox 360 hooked up to it
and play audio and video from the media center computer. What's
strange is that while I can add network folders to the media center and
play files from those folders locally, I do not see those folders when
viewing 'my video' or 'my music' on the xbox - I only see files that
are local to the media center. I tried adding the folders via the
xbox, and it cannot find any network shares. I am running Windows
Media Connect 2.0 on the computer I'm attempting to share files from
and all devices are enabled, and I can play music from those shared
folders via the 'regular' method on Xbox media page - just not through
media center.
Is this just a known limitation - do the media files have to reside on
the media center pc itself? Is there something else I need to set up
to make it work? I can move the media over, but I'm dreading it...
thanks in advance,
