Wireless Icon Missing from Taskbar

  I have wireless setup on my laptop (an hp dv6000). It's been working fine
until about 3 days ago. The wireless icon has disappeared from the taskbar
and I have not had any success re-establishing it over the last 3 days.

 Help! I have the exact same problem. I know the wireless is working just
fine, but the icon is missing. And when I go into the My Network Places, I
don't have any wireless connections listed at all...so weird.

I found a hotfix on the MSFT that was supposed to fix the problem, but when
I tried to install it, the program said my version was too new.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
