Windows media center XP won't show albums

  When I open the music section of the media center, all of my albums have
disappeared. I see the message "Unable to view music by album..."

The albums are still on my drive but it won't let me re-add the music (I can
add the folders but no albums show up in the music section of the media
center).

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated

you can google for instructions on how to clear the media player
database.  

"reset media player library" got me this

its for XP. Vista is slightly different.
