  Hello.
I dont know who to blaim here. I have a PVR 150 on MCE 2005 & using Nvidia
Purevideo.
When watching live TV , quality is not good (smearing and ghosts).
If I record a show and watch it using WMP10 outside MCE it has amazing
quality while still lousy inside MCE.
So I figured the input has good quality and the MCE decoder has a problem.
DVDs and DIVXes are ok.

Any idea ?

Thanks,
Andrei, Israel.

When using Media Player to play a recording are you using VMR rendering or
Overlay rendering and do you have hardware acceleration enabled?
What are the specs of your graphics card and what driver release are you
using for it?

My video card is ATI X1300 PCIX and a PVR150 runnig on a core 2 duo system
with a gigabyte m/b and 1024mb of ram.
Using latested drivers (6.9 for ATI) .
Not sure what you mean. I found in the WMP setup this: "Use video mixing
renderer" is checked and "Use overlays" too. Prefered decoder is greyed out
and checked "software". Full video acceleration is set to full.

Thanks.

What Decoder options if any do you get when watching TV with MCE? And what
are the settings that you can not change?
What release of the decoder are you running?
What are the following specs for your X1300 card; onboard memory, memory
speed and memory bus width?

 Nvidia Purevideo version: 04.02-223 (trail)
 options:
Display type: content
Hardware accleration: checked
De-interlace control: Automatic
De-interlace mode: Best
Tv overscan correction: 0
Enhanced nview support: prefer overlay

My video card: core clock is 446mhz, memory clock 342mhz 128bit , got 128mb
onboard but it has hypermemory so it can be upto 512mb.
