Hello all,

A simple question really: should the resolution of a plasma screen connected
to a Media Center PC exactly match a resolution supported by the video
adapter on the PC? For example; the ATI Radeon video board in an HP Media
Center PC supports 1024 x 768 and 1152 x 864. What happens with both video
modes if I use a 1024 x 1024 plasma screen?

In more general terms; what are the basic rules to follow?

Thanks,
Denis.

If using a component or DVI interface then use a standare video resolution
such as 480p, 720p or 1080i and your display will do an excellent job of
scaling the input to its native resoultion since these are the standard
resolutions it is designed to do its best at since they are the ones it can
expcect from a tuner, cable or satellite STB. The current releases of the
Catalyst software for your Radeon card can adjust for display overscan if
that is a problem. check the release user manual for details.

If using VGA then sending 1024x 1024 would probably be the best.
