My hard drive is divided into drives C and D. I need to take most of the
unused space in drive D, which has 100% free space, and transfer it to Drive
C. How do I do this in Windows XP? It appears that the only option in Disk
Management is to delete drive D completely.

XP can't do this on it's own. You need software, such as Partition Magic,
that will allow you to resize partitions without losing your data.
Use a program such as BootIt Next Generation, which includes a full fledged
partition manager, as well as a boot manager. Half the price of Partition
Magic, and has a 30 day trial.
