No video in WMP10, but fine in MCE2005

  I have a brand new Dell Dimension E510

When playing a video in WMP10, I get a black video and good audio.
If I play the same file (mpg or avi) through Media Center, it plays fine.

How do I fix WMP10?  I tried to download WMP10 and it said my version was
newer.  Go figure.

Help!

Win XP Media Center Edition 2005 v5.1.2715.2812
All WinXP updates are loaded, MCE Update Rollup 2
WMP v10.00.00.3990

 I have the same issue backwards.  Everything plays in Media player 10;  same
file gets a black screen and it freezes the screen if played in MC.
