Missing sound on live TV

  We already checked that the system is not muted. All other sounds play. It's
only the sound om live TV that doesn't.

 When you are watching a liveTV show and you are not getting sound start a
recording of the program using the red button on the MC interface.  After
about 5 minutes stop watching and close MC.  The start MC back up again and
watch the recording you made from the LiveTV program.  Do you get the sound?

  Yes. We have sound on all other functions of media centre including recorded
TV programmes. It's only missing on live TV. Our computer manufacturer's help
desk are suggesting we wipe and reload everything. Surely there must be a
simpler answer?

Have done. Same result. No sound. Thanks. I hope you can help. No one else
