Most recently any recording that I attempt to do from the television via the
MedicaCenter has been unsuccessful.  Although the program appears to record,
when attempting “playback” a prompt is received indicating that the “file
format is not supported by MediaCenter”.  However, there are recordings that
had been made earlier using the Media Center which play back as they should.

I am currently operating under XP Professional with SP3.  Any suggestions
and/or assistance will be greatly appreciated.

XP Professional is a non-media center system,so you need a compatible direct
show DVD decoder inorder to watch DVR-MS files.

S.Sengupta:

Thank you so very much for your timely response.  However, can you give me
an idea of what a "compatible direct show DVD decoder" might be and/or where
I might inquire into getting one?

Any response will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks - Rod
