Media Center Will NOT start after ASR Recovery

  I have been happy running my MCE system for more than a year.  A couple of
day ago my system disk failed but I had recently made a ASR backup so I
wasn't worried.  However, after completing the restore and running windows
update Media Center will not start.  I get the error "Media Center will only
work on Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition"

Is there a fix for this problerm other than a clean reinstall?

 I'm suffering the same problem.  Is your problem with a new Dell and the
recovery disk supplied?
