MCE remote on Vista Ultimate

  I got my new Dell XPS m1710 system with Vista ultimate last week. Now I'm
trying to install my MCE remote control (Microsoft Receiver 1.0A model 1040  
and Microsoft 1039 remote). The receiver installs OK, and shows up in the
device manager and blinks with the LED when I press keys on the remote, but
nothing happens in the media center. Has anyone got this setup working? Do I
need any extra drivers or software? Is this Receiver/Remote compatible with
Vista Ultimate? MS supportpages are unfortionately not of any use.... :-(
