I am running MCE 2005 and Office Standard 2003. I recently updated
Messenger to Windows Live Messenger.
Is there anything that I need to do in regard to changing settings in Media
Center for the old Windows Messenger so I don't have any conflicts? So far
everything seems to be working OK, so I have not reopened the old Windows
Messenger at all.

well microsoft actually has 2 different versions of messenger. The one that
comes built into XP is windows messenger, then there is MSN Messenger, which
is what the new Live Messenger is. If thats what you want/are using then
there is no reason to open windows messenger, and you shouldn't have any
problems that I know of using the new Live Messenger, however I have not
tested it within MCE so I can't attest to it's compatability there.

Media Center does not use Windows Live Messenger at all, so there is no
conflicts really if you install that on your Media Center PC.
Media Center only uses Windows Messenger (for the Instant Messaging
features). Unfortunately, that feature won't be provided in Vista's Media
Center.
