MCE 2005 REMOTE CONTROL PROBLEMS

  I've been having a problem with my remote control for mce 2005, it wont work
at all, it wont respnd to any key presses and i've change the batteries to
new ones and have rebooted my computer but nothing, does any one know how to
reset the remote control so that it will work, i know there should be a way
to make remotes work with a key combination but i dont know what it is.

can someone please help

 I had a similar problem, and I read online that if you leave the
batteries out for 30-60 minutes, the capacitors lose their charge, and
you can put in a fresh set of batteries. Worked for me!

 thanks Jayc I lrft them out for 90 m9nutes and BINGO lit up like a christmas
tree. i did that but onoy for 5 m9inutes...thanks i would have never got it
