Does anyone know what resolution is put out by the extender or is it what is
put out by you video card settings. Also if it is the card settings is there
a way to set that as your secondary display and force a specific resolution
on that secondary only or will it effect the PC display also.

The Linksys Extender outputs 480i. The resolution is controlled by the
Extender and is not configurable in the case of the Linksys (Xbox 360 can be
configured for 720p, 1080i, 1080p, etc. output).

Todd Thanks for the answer I figured because no matter what I did it did not
change a thing.
when you say xbox it is the game console you are referring too correct and
if so does it matter which one I get or am I better off waiting for Vista and
gen 2 extenders or will I even need an exteder with vista

Yes, I'm referring to the Xbox 360 game console used as an Extender.
Extender functionality is built into all Xbox 360s, so it doesn't matter
which one you get. It's hard to say which Extender is best for you given
that details regarding specific third party Extenders have not yet been
officially announced. That said, I use my 360 as an Extender (with Vista)
and love it.
