Installation of Update Rollup 2 for Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
(KB900325) failed with Error Code: 0x643

I have done a lot of reading and tried the following strategies without
success:

...Reinstall of update
...Repair of .net framework 2 then reinstall
...Uninstall .net framework 2, reinstall then install fix.

Attached is an extract from the KB900325 update install log where I first
see failure error messages.

If Anyone can suggest a way forward I will be grateful.

Regards,

Brian

 Brian,

See if this MSKB resolves the issue :
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822798

Start with Method 2 than Method 4. If that doesn't resolve it, do Method
1 and then Method 3.

No, tried all 4 options without success.

What made you think it was Crypto?

BTW:   KB822798 Option 1 can only be performed if the Crypto service is stopped
first.

Brian

 Brian,

I am having exactly the same problem that you are. I have also tried all the
fixes you diescribe below as well as other fixes from this newgroup. Did you
ever find a fix for your problem?

Also, I don't know how to view the windows update install log. How do you do
this?

I am having the same trouble also, but I'm not familiar with the process that
was described below and therfore I'm afraid to try it.  Has anyone else found
a simple solution?
