Hello,
I am setting up Windows Media Center for the 1st time. I have
recorded DVDs using DVD Decrypter and / or DVD Shrink. With media
center openning those files, there is no audio, the video plays fine.
I can open the recorded files using Windows Media Center 11, and
WinDVD and there is no issues, the audio does play fine.
What am I missing?
In Media Center, I can see the audio codec used is the AC3 one. I've
installed the AC3Filter_1_6 which I think is recent, no change.
The MS Video Decoder Checkup Utility does not report any issues
(probably only checks video I guess).
The diagnostic tool also does not report any issues.
Any thoughts, tips, or links which may help fix this?
Lenovo P4, 3GB, 100GB HDD, Windows Media Center 2005 (all updates),
Media Center 11, WinDVD 5 (lenovo provided), Hauppage WinTV PCI card,
NVidea 7900 GS, no issues with Device Manager

Just noticed something worthy to mention:
Media Center Diag Tool --> Software Devices
This area shows the AC3Filter is not MCE compatible, however
It does show the InterVideo Audio Decoder is full compatible in all
areas
Any suggestions?

Some confusion in your original post. You said the file play in Media
Center, then said they won't play in Media Center, I assume you mean Media
"Player" 11?
If the non-compatible codec is the preferred for Media Center, then that
probably is the source of your troubles have you tried setting the
"Preferred" to the InterVideo decoder?
If you want to check to see if, it is in fact, a codec problem, try
downloading the nVideo Pure Platinum decoder (it's free to try for 30 days).
If everything works with that, you can either purchase and continue to use
that or try removing all the decoders and just install the InterVideo one
and see if that works for everything.
