Im running into a problems with mce2005 and Nvidia NVTD Dual Tuner PCI card.
Right after my computer ran the windows updates this month, Im getting this
error messege when launching MCE 2005:
"Your video card or drivers are not compatible with Media Center"
Im using NVIDIA VIDEO DECODER, Decoder file: nviddec.ax version 4.0.44.0
which Ive been using for over a year on MCE 2005. I tried the latest
drivers but they dont fix the problem.
Is the NVIDIA NVTV DUAL Turner obsolete already? DO I need to buy a new
Tuner card for MCE2005 latest updates, if so would it be compatible with
Vista ?
Thanks.

That error message has nothing to do with your tv tuner. Its saying there
is a problem with your video card or the video card drivers. What video
card do you have installed? Do you know what you installed when you ran
windows update?

My video card is a RADEON 9600 Series, running the latest drivers provided by
microsoft. Im glad to hear is has nothing to do with the tuner card.
Although is stoped the tuner from working. I reinstalled my computer for a
second time a couple of hours ago. Since then, I've been able to run Media
center, even though
I cant watch tv on the computer because the image wont play unless I move
the window around. but It does work on the XBOX360 extenders.
I disabled the windows updates. Do you suggest I should let windows update
itself and then deal with the video card since the error messege has nothing
to do with the NVIDIA NVTV Dual tuner card? Thanks in advance for your
help.

Not True, This is the most common error reported to indicate problems also
with the users TV Tuner/VIDEO Capture card.

If you are using the inbox driver from Microsoft for your video card, then
it is i) very old and ii) function deprived.
Obtain the latest video card driver from ATI.
DO NOT USE THE ATI DRIVERS FROM WINDOWSUPDATE.
The latest drivers from ATI are available here

While you are at it, you might as well update your Nvidia DVD decoder (as
the version you have looks like it is pretty old).
The update for that is available at
