Windows Media Center is an operating system, not an add, on for XP, and
definitely not free, you'll have to purchase a copy from a software vendor
such as newegg.com, then format your hard drive and install fresh as it will
not perform an upgrade.

Windows Media Center 2005 is built on top of Windows XP Professional.
You can not install Windows Media Center as a separate program. Media Center
is integrated into Windows.

Media Center IS an operating system
You can buy an OEM version from Newegg and other vendors.
