GUIDE DOWNLOAD ERROR IN WINDOWS VISTA

The Guide could not be downloaded for the following reason: Internet
connection failure (Code:13)
I have been struggling with this problem for about six weeks now with no
good results on resolving it. I have tried everything I have seen posted
(that sounds at all logical) and have spent many dozens of hours trying to
resolve this problem.I have gone as far as tocompletely reinstall the
operating system which one of the geniuses at HP suggested but only caused me
many hours of more problems getting everything straightened out again. Can
anyone come up with a solution that will work to fix this problem so that I
can use my media center TV properly again? There is no problem with my cable
connection or the TV tuner as you can watch live TV with no problem just no
info. available. I obviously do not have an internet connection problem as I
got here.

The computer I am dealing with is an HP Pavillion media center tv pc m7750n.
By looking in device manager I think that the TV tuner card is Hauppauge
winTV HVR-1600 ntsc/atsc Combo???

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32, I connect to the internet
through AOL and a dial up connection.

Don't the TV guide listings come directly from a server on the internet
accessable to practically everyone? or just where do they come from and how
would a person find it?

MC gets it’s guide data from     http://www.zap2it.com/
You can check their web site for yoru zip code and your TV service supplier
to see what MC should be getting for guide data.
If the data appears correct then while still connected to the internet try
again setting up your TV connectionin MC.

Yes it does seem that that the guide listings are contained here. however I
need to be able to download them to my media center EPG to be able to use
media center TV as it should be and I cannot get them to download. I cannot
beleive that I cannot get an answer to fix this problem as I do not think
that it should be a difficult problem to solve however a dummy like myself is
not able to figure it out. I had been using the Guide for 3 years with no
problem until about 2 month's ago when it quit downloading.
Thank you for the information.
