  Hey Everyone

Just Wondering if anyone else has Accomplished This?

What i would like to do, is i have 2 Digital Satellite Sources(Identical)
and i would like to bring them into my Hauppauge 500 MCE. I will of course
have XP MCE, and i would like to be able to record from one source and watch
another, but Also use my MS Remote to control the channels.
Is this easy?  From what i understand, what ever is on the output of either
Satellite is the only thing the turner will see, hence i will not be able to
download a program guide for time shifting / movie recording.
Or am i missing something about MCE? (Never used it before)

any insight would be great.

Lee

What you are proposing is very doable. The Hauppauge 500 card comes with =
an additional backplane adapter so that you can use two different set =
top boxes (composite or S-Video) with Media Center.  You can't use RF =
(coax) out of the STB's, as there is only one RF input, and that signal =
is split internally.   The tuner doesn't need to see the guide data, =
that's all handled via download from the Internet by Media Center.

For an excellent tutorial by MVP Barb Bowman, on using dual STB's with =
Media Center, go here:

  Thanks for the reply.

Does MCE download the data for the guide use Canadian SAT's?

Also, Will I still need to use my remote control from my STB to change
channels or does my MS Remote handle that?

thanks

A Canadian user would have to answer the question about Guide =
availability for your area.  The Media Center remote controls the Media =
Center PC.  IR emitters that are powered and controlled by the computer =
are attached to your set top box, so Media Center can control the =
channel changes.
