I have a  RCA Directv set top box for my cable channels, and get local
channels over an antenna conection. I have set up my  HP Media Center  7760n
, and get the Directv signal perfectly. My local antenna are not coming
through though.  Is there a way to switch betwween the two signals ? I cant
seem to find an answer  in the manuals or online.

No. You can only have one source.

This is only supported when the local antenna stations are HD, not for
standard stations.

At least in MCE.  Other products support it just fine.

Does your RCA DSS STB not have dual coax inputs? I have an older box with
two inputs, one for the dish, and one for a local channel antenna. I am
still working on the setup, but it looks like the STB output will be split.
In the setup I have, it looks like turning off the STB allows a direct
passthrough from the local antenna.

Just to follow up on what I was trying to do. The STB is an RCA satellite
box with two inputs; one for the dish and one for the broadcast antenna. One
output run to a VHS tape machine. I put a satellite splitter into the
STB-to-VHS line, and ran it to the MCE computer. MCE recognizes that their i
an STB, but can't control it. Assumption is that MCE will only work with the
HD boxes; I don't think the landlady is ready to spring for the money for an
HD upgrade. However, even with the satellite equipment in a powered down
state I can still pull the local channels on the MCE computer.
