Hi, I'm wondering if there are any PC Video Capture PCI Cards that can be
connected directly to the Telewest Broadband Cable network, bypassing the
need for a Set-Top Box, and viewing or recording the TV signal directly into
Windows Media Centre equipped PCs?

If not, any planned or on the way?

Well, DVB-C cards are readily available, so if you have any _unencrypted_
digital services in your cable, you could receive those. If you want to
receive encrypted digital services, see if they use an encryption system
for which a CI CAM is available. If there is, you could purchase a DVB-C
card with a CI slot, the CI CAM and put your smart card into that CAM.

As to the Media Center, it supports neither DVB-C nor CI, so you would have
to use the card manufacturer's TV application instead.

 Hi Robert

There seems to be some DVB-C CAM cards which do support Telewest Digital
Cable in the UK.

However are you 100% certain that Media Center will not work with any DVB-C
cards?  Here is a link the manufacturer of the one that will work with
Telewest:

It's 100% certain that MCE does not work with either DVB-C or DVB-S nor with the
Common Interface (CI) into which you plug your Conditional Access Module (CAM),
