Does anyone have any idea why my TV can receive a digital channel but my
computer cannot?  It worked before, but now does not.  Many of the digital
channels still come in fine, but the local CBS and CW affiliates are all
reading red in the signal strength setup screen.

I did install a new VIX PureTV driver on my HP Vista PC, but I don't know if
the problem started immediately after that or later.

Thanks,
Marc

Does the problem persist if you rollback the driver?

Why did you install the new driver?

As a general rule, do not update drivers if you are not having a problem. In
other words, If it ain't broke don't fix it.

You didnt say if you're using MCE or not. I assume you are.

Microsoft has screwed up the channel listings in most urban areas.

This should fix you up

Ignore the MC signal meter. All of my channels have one red block and a TV
on the same split antenna reports maximum bars. I receive all channels fine
on both devices. Rather, if you've lost channels recently, look to the EPG
downloaded frequency XML file. Lately, several local markets have reported
losing connect ability on select channels because the EPG has been reporting
post transition (02/2009) frequencies to Media Center.

You can change the listing in this file for the affected channels easily.

Eeks! the link I provided below is for provides path information for XP
Media Center and may be confusing to Vista users. The Vista path to the
referenced files that have to be edited is:
C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\eHome\EPG\prefs
